With a few tweaks to your recruiting process, companies of all sizes can improve their Diversity and Inclusion.
- High Diversity (in gender, ethnic and cultural) correlates with stronger profitability in companies. Companies that leverage the different cultural backgrounds of employees, their experiences and way of thinking are more innovative than those that don´t.
- When hiring, think about what you write in your job ads. Wording that is more related to male applicants can discourage female candidates to apply. Look at your language and the way you describe the job.
- Think about the pictures you use on your website. Are they showing a diverse workforce in gender, age or ethnic background? Are you an attractive employer for all genders and people with different ethnic backgrounds?
- Before you look at the picture of a candidate, screen the resume and decide if this candidate should be invited to an interview. This way of working avoids that you inadvertently decide on someone whose picture you like or who is similar to you.
