The Business Line “HealthCare” takes an exceptional position within the company structure and concentrates mainly on pharma expedients, formulation technologies and services and food ingredients. The Business Line partners with the world’s pharmaceutical, medical device and nutraceutical companies to transform complexity into value.
With a view to support the management of the HealthCare Business Line in the elaboration and further development of the global (growth) strategy we are now looking for a new „Senior Strategic Project Manager M&A - Healthcare (m/f/d)“.

The position is based in Darmstadt / Home Office.

Senior Strategic Project Manager M&A - Healthcare (m/w/d)


The new job holder screens and analyses the existing portfolio as well as potential growth areas and technology trends. On this basis, he/she coordinates the implementation of feasibility studies with the technical departments and develops the corresponding strategy papers, business plans and decision templates.
By being responsible for the initiation and management of the resulting projects, such as M&A transactions or investment projects, he/she is directly involved in the future design of the business line.
The moderation as well as the preparation and follow-up of the review meetings with the Business Line and group management and the representation of the division in group-wide strategy projects or in discussions with key partners are further aspects of his/her area of accountability.
The new job holder also assumes the responsibility for further strategic tasks. This includes, for example, the control of the overall strategy process and the further development of the division by the establischment of new business areas.
The „Senior Strategic Project Manager M&A - Healthcare“ acts with a high visibility and makes himself/herself eligible for further career steps within the company.

His/Her main tasks will be:
  • Providing insight and support for the strategy development process of the Business Line/Product Line including portfolio analysis
  • Developing best in class templates/documentation to communicate strategies and projects
  • Leading M&A projects in areas such as target scouting, profiling, business case development and transaction processes / negotiation up to closing
  • Supporting Venture Capital Opportunity Evaluations
  • Leading evaluation/valuation of other strategic projects including investment projects
  • Identifying and documenting new business opportunities (e.g. technologies & business models)
  • Managing relevant stakeholders and approval/ information processes
  • Representing the Business Line in external or cross-BL strategic projects
  • Representing the Business Line in meetings and discussions with key partners (in consultation and alignment with Regional, Account and Innovation Management) dealing with new technologies or new business concepts
  • Contributing to documentation and reporting of progress, including monthly reports, customer and partner visit reports, projects documentation



The ideal candidate has successfully completed his/her studies in the field of economics, natural sciences or engineering. He/She brings along a minimum of 7 years of international professional experience in strategy development and especially M&A subjects, in particular in the special chemistry, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry; prior consultancy experience and further experience in additional business areas or functions will also be a plus.

He/She features strong strategic, business and financial skills, is experienced in B2B Business and in the certification of products. The capacity to evaluate processes, identify business opportunities and support venture capital opportunity evaluations are of particular importance.
The new jobholder is both a team player and a leader who is able to manage complicated projects and lead multi-disciplinary project teams. As our customer operates on a global level international experience and the willingness to travel on an international level (20-30%) are also required. Fluent spoken and written English skills are mandatory, German skills are considered as a plus.
