Senior Consultant HSE
The aim is to design a health, safety and environmental management system (HSE Management System - ISO45001 and ISO14001) to standardize the design reviews and inspections of an important expanding Arab Municipality.
We are actively recruiting Several HSE Professionals for a challenging approximately 6 month opportunity.
There are positions available ON-SITE (at the arabian municipality) or FULL REMOTE(at your home).
We are looking for Consultants with more than 15 years of experience.
Our client is Emersum: a consultancy, innovation and sustainability company that carries out social and environmental development projects. Specifically, in this project we will work in partnership with an important multinational company (TUV Rheinland) that will take care of project management and logistical aspects, constituting a strong growth initiative. The working language is English.
Project objectives
- Provide a structured management approach to control health and safety risks in the developer's operations.
- Comply with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 occupational health and safety management systems.
- Develop an automated HSE management system that standardizes project review and inspection processes.
- Integration of health and safety management into the overall risk management approach.
Profile Description
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Consultant with a proven track record of over 15 years in designing and implementing robust Health & Safety management systems. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills, paired with a deep understanding of safety regulations and best practices. This professional will spearhead the development of comprehensive HSE strategies, fostering a culture of safety excellence.
Key Responsibilities in the Project
1. *Gap Analysis:* Conduct thorough assessments to identify gaps in existing Health & Safety systems, processes, and procedures.
2. *Safety Culture Survey:* Design and administer surveys to evaluate the organization's safety culture, pinpointing areas for improvement.
3. *Policy Development:* Create, review, and refine Health & Safety policies to align with industry standards and organizational goals.
4. *Procedure Formulation:* Develop precise procedural guidelines, ensuring the seamless execution of safety protocols.
5. *Guidelines Creation:* Establish comprehensive guidelines for safe practices, ensuring organizational-wide awareness of safety protocols.
6. *Employee Handbook:* Craft an accessible handbook detailing safety measures, emergency procedures, and contact information.
7. *Training & Implementation:* Oversee the implementation of the new system, conducting training sessions for employees at all levels.
8. *Continuous Improvement:* Implement mechanisms to monitor and continuously enhance the Health & Safety management system.

Requirements
Past Experiences
The candidate should possess extensive experience in leading and contributing to consulting projects about management systems development and implementation (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) in diverse sectors, including but not limited to manufacturing, construction, and energy. Their history of successfully executing similar projects underscores their ability to guide organizations towards enhanced safety compliance, risk mitigation, and process efficiency.
Academic Background:
Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. This foundation provides the necessary knowledge to navigate complex safety challenges.
Certifications & Other Qualifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent designation.
- ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification to ensure compliance with global safety standards.
- (ideally ISO 14001 Lead Auditor)
- Additional relevant certifications demonstrating expertise in hazard assessment, risk management, and process optimization.
Languages:
Fluency in English is essential, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders, conducting training sessions, and preparing comprehensive reports.

The project will start between 15 September and 1 October.

Salary and conditions
- net salary starting at a net 5.000 €/month and adaptable to the candidate's level of experience
In case of on-site work:
- 1 round-trip flight included
- accommodation in a flat or aparthotel included in the contract
- a daily allowance of 40€ on top of salary is included
