The following business-critical position is to be filled with immediate effect:

Head of Assay Development (f/m/x)



  • Leading and coordinating operations for the Assay Development department within the company
  • Establishing a center of competence for analytical/testing topics
  • Responsibility for selecting assays for the company’s development products, their technical establishment, further development and qualification with the overall aim to achieve approval by regulatory authorities
  • Project lead for tech transfers of methods to internal or external partners
  • Management and full leadership responsibility for an effective and highly qualified team of experts
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration: promoting productive and positive teamwork across departments and the organization (internal & external)
  • Ensuring a reliable, effective, timely and compliant function which meets today’s and future needs


  • University Degree (PhD, MSc or equivalent) in life science
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience and extensive responsibility in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
  • Experience in an GxP environment with a profound understanding of GMP, GLP, ICH guidance and other pharmaceutical regulatory guidelines
  • Knowledge of analytical and immunological/microbiological methods (e.g. ELISA, bioassays, cell culture, etc.)
  • Strong leader with excellent communication skills at all levels as well as intercultural competence
  • Resilient character: able to work on multiple projects under pressure and to ensure their outcome on time
  • Exceptional organizational skills (project management experience is a plus) as well as the ability to coordinate multiple and diverse teams across different departments
  • Excellent language skills in English and German (oral and written)

The compensation of this position consists of a gross annual salary of € 80.000 (including bonus) or more – depending on your previous experience. Overpayment is possible and depends on your qualifications and work experience.
