We are currently looking for a new

R&D Manager Embedded Software (m/f/d)

who will help to solve the technical challenges that are the foundations for the next industrial revolution.
The new jobholder will report directly to the R&D Manager, the position is based in the Munich region.

Your future role

In this function, you will lead a growing team of at present seven staff. Your focus of attention will be on the development of hardware near software on a Xilinx based platform which processes sensors, drives motors and runs predictive maintenance.
You will take responsibility for functional and safety rated development, supported by an existing team of experts.
Further areas of responsibilities will be:
  • Acting as a technical resource with profound knowledge for internal and external partners
  • Planning and ensuring an optimal project portfolio for your team including planning of capacity, staff and resources for R&D projects
  • Overseeing efficient, timely and quality project execution
  • Improving processes and procedures with a view to enhancing local operations
  • Participating in code reviews
  • Partnering with the Local Management to ensure appropriate representation of needs with R&D project
  • Evaluating local market requirements and innovation and providing feedback to appropriate product, manufacturing and R&D solutions
  • Supporting and overseeing transfer of technology and knowledge within the team and between internal and external partners
  • Managing assigned resources for R&D activities, assigning tasks to team members and supervising workload and work allocation within the project

Your qualifications


As ideal candidate, you have successfully completed your studies with a Master of Science, e.g. IT or electrical engineering. You bring along a minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience including managerial responsibility in an embedded software environment.
In addition, you have a proven track in C and C++ programming, software engineering and embedded real-time systems. A decent knowledge of design patterns is also strongly required.
Experience in FPGA programming as well as knowledge in safety related software development or configuration management would be a plus.
The international orientation of the company and of the team requires fluency in English, German skills are appreciated.
Last but not least the ability and willingness to travel up to 20% on an international level should also be given.
