The objective of the Finance division is to manage every financial aspect of Santander in the most effective way, maintaining optimal relations with investors, regulators and supervisors. We are the engine that drives the areas and businesses from a financial perspective, to make Santander the best and most responsible open financial services platform and to help people and businesses prosper.

We are a diverse, multidisciplinary team with a transversal role. We are represented in all group units. We therefore have a range of complementary profiles, from actuaries specializing in the world of pensions, through accounting, consolidation, management control and capital analysts, to experts in accounting regulations and engineers.

The Finance division has six main functions: capital management; capital adequacy; management of assets and liabilities; regulatory issues; shareholder and investor relations; and strategic and financial analysis for the group.


Senior Capital Control
  • Ensure that the company meets its Capital Reporting requirements to FSA and to the Group according to the relevant regulation and the Capital Policy.
  • Ensure that the company has processes in place to estimate and plan the future capital requirements, and to prepare updated capital estimates on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure that relevant capital reports are prepared and provided to internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in relevant governance bodies related to Capital
  • Participation in projects related to Capital.
  • Participate in validating Capital needs on new and existing deals.
  • Support profitability reviews and calculations.

Competence requirements
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance and Business Administration, or similar level of education and experience level
  • Very good understanding and experience of Finance in general
  • Very good understanding and experience of Capital requirements within banking
  • Excellent written and oral English
  • Experienced in MS Office programs (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Experienced in Oracle and SmartView
  • Several years of experience within Finance or/and Capital area
