Chief Accountant Baltics
The purpose of the role is to deliver timely and accurate local and corporate financial statements, to report in alignment with the Mars Financial requirements, to ensure compliance with legal and tax regulations as well as to maintain internal control environment in the local legal entities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages financial reporting ensuring:
an efficient, effective and accurate period close process
maintenance of appropriate supporting documentation
identification and timely resolution of complex accounting matters
compliance with all Mars Finance Manual policies, Recurring Reports Manual and other guidance/practices including compliance to local GAAP/statutory and other local legal/regulatory requirements
Plans and manages the year-end or other audit processes with the Financial Controller and the Financial Operations Manager
Detailed understanding of Finance Manual and general accounting principles
Together with other colleagues, supports a secure internal control environment, including appropriate segregation of duties, by providing leadership and expertise
Manages accounting system(s) to enable compliance with requirements and produce accurate and reliable financial reporting
Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and systems, ensures that appropriate segregation of duties, access and controls are managed within the system(s)
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Fully qualified - ACA, ACCA or CIMA, US GAAP
5+ years of practical general accounting and/or financial control experience
Foundational knowledge of Internal Control, governance and tax compliance
Accounting, Financial Processes and Financial Control (Advanced)
Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office/SAP)
Fluent spoken and written English is a must
