Mill Manager (Launkalne mill)

- To ensure that health and safety of the employees, as well as compliance laws, regulations and the code of conduct is a clear priority to all managers and employees of the mill,

- To steer operation and efficiency improvement to meet planned KPIs,

- To monitor and steer the cost efficiency of the mill,

- Implement commonly agreed best practices and processes within the division when it comes to safety management, continuous improvement and product quality,

- To ensure sufficient staffing and right competence of the mill employees by proactive workforce planning and recruitment together with HR,

- To lead with example and secure a good working culture by acting as role model to others,

- To coach the team and manage performance of individuals through regular feedback and development actions,

- To develop long term strategic plans for the mill and to suggest and prioritize investments to secure the long term efficiency of the location,

- To represent the mill to regional stakeholders to secure good public relations and reputation.

- Technical or university degree related to wood processing would be an advantage,

- 5 years of relevant experience on unit management level such as mill manager, production manager or controller of a larger unit, preferably in the wood processing industry,

- Strong track record in driving continuous improvement and change,

- Former experience in methods in continuous improvement as well as leading safety and quality,

- Financial understanding and ability to think in terms of profit, loss and added value,

- Proven ability to lead, set clear direction and inspire and motivate others,

- Structured and well organized working style,

- Ability to work with high pressure and setbacks,

- Ability to work in an international matrix organization where communication and interpersonal skills are key,

- Good English skills, both written and spoken.
