Legal Counsel

Reviewing, interpreting legal requirements and effectively communicating these to the business and external stakeholders
Challenging the decisions of governing bodies and managing current and potential litigations related to gambling, if necessary with the Group's partnering law firms
Provide legal structuring advice, drafting and reviewing contracts, policies and licensing documents, and any other compliance requirements
Providing general corporate advice and support on legal matters locally and to other Group countries
Support and advising group lawyers in providing legal and compliance services
Keeping abreast of gambling legislation, and sharing this knowledge with the team
Building a scalable foundation for the Legal team including developing templates, implementing processes and developing other proactive initiatives
Law degree (L.L.M.)
5 + years of demonstrable experience supporting commercial and corporate matters either as in-house counsel in an international company, or from a reputable law firm with international exposure
Knowledge and understanding of the gambling industry, both in terms of legal regulation as well as commercial practices will be considered as advantage
Experience in court disputes and participation in litigation is strongly preferred
Knowledge of AML, Compliance and GDPR requirements
Highly organized, self-driven and able to take ownership of new assigned projects
Ability to work under pressure in a fast - paced environment
Strong communication skills, able to engage positively and productively with the colleagues, authorities and service providers alike
Fluent working proficiency in English and Latvian (Russian will be considered as advantage)
Ability and willingness to travel
