Sales Director

LIVONIA PRINT SIA was established in 2006 and during these 16 years the company has grown to be one of the largest and probably the most modern book printer in Northern Europe. Sales reached 95 mill. EUR in 2022 from ~ 58 million books in all shapes and forms. The main markets are Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Much of the sales to these countries are contract sales to major publishing houses, served by Livonia’s own sales teams located in these markets.

During 2021 and 2022 Livonia consolidated its two Riga plants at the industrial park at Jurkalnes iela 15/25, covering approximately 30 000 sq. m. production and office area. Much of the company efforts these years have been in planning and executing the consolidation process. Livonia has at present 700 employees, of which 570 are in the production and technical departments.

Sales Director


The Sales Director (SD) will be responsible for and in charge of Livonia’s overall market functions, which includes all sales activities. 

The department consist of a sales team and a Customers Service Department.

The sales team consists of 6 professionals, of which 5 are self-employed, but only working for Livonia Print. They are based in Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Germany, covering these markets and Denmark. Livonia’s market shares in these countries are substantial. The United Kingdom is also an important market but is covered directly from Riga by the Deputy Managing Director and designated persons in the Customer Service Departments.

The Customer Service Department consists of 28 multilingual project managers receiving and following up all orders and communicating with the customers in the customers’ native language until the orders have been delivered.

The company’s founder and Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors has also worked as Livonia’s Sales Director. He has extensive knowledge of the business and has close relationships with many of the major customers. He is reducing his direct sales work and will work with and support our new Sales Director by sharing his knowledge and experience.

Our new Sales Director will be an important member of the company’s Executive Management Team, reporting to the CEO.

Some important Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Propose, develop, and initiate strategic and tactical market and sales activities through periodic activity plans to drive sales to meet the company’s goals. The plans should evaluate existing and new markets for new sales initiatives.
  • Maintain and develop sales teams through recruiting and training, including periodic evaluations of how Livonia best and most cost effectively can service specific markets, i.e., with geographically located sales teams, directly from Riga or by agency representations.
  • Manage the sales teams and the market support functions through regular sales meetings (sales teams normally by video link) and by establishing solid periodic assignment and reporting routines through a relevant CRM – system or other digital tools, enabling systematic reviews and evaluations of the teams’ efforts, as well as providing insight into market challenges and opportunities and enabling forward planning. SD shall provide the sales teams with supervision and support providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance. It is expected that the SD from time to time also takes an active part in sales meetings with customers.
  • Prepare the annual sales and market support budgets.
  • Prepare and submit monthly performance reports, evaluations, and sales forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain relevant sales and market statistics.
  • Practice good and transparent management by example and always have cost effectiveness in mind when organizing the departments and functions reporting to the Sales Director, contributing to Livonia’s vision of becoming Publishers’ first choice - capable, willing, reliable, and respected.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Administration, Marketing or similar.
  • Documented results from senior sales and market positions dealing with international sales.
  • Documented management and motivational skills.
  • Fluency in English and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Presentation and analytical skills.
Salary package: starting from 5000 EUR gross + variable part according to the achievement of Sales targets.
