We are looking for a

Compliance officer

As a Compliance officer you will ensure compliance and manage compliance related risks of OP group operations in Latvia. You will also ensure that regulations and guidelines, and internal rules, ethical guidance and values of OP Financial Group are followed in all business operations. You will also act as Data protection officer.

A unique aspect of this role is the opportunity to engage in projects spanning across the three Baltic countries, offering a real Baltic perspective. You will also have a chance to participate in cooperative projects with our Finnish counterparts, broadening your professional experience and network.

Key responsibilities

• Inform management and relevant personnel on compliance related matters and changes in legal and regulatory framework

• Responsible for the control plan and related actions to ensure compliance of business operations

• Identify and report to management on compliance related risks

• Take active role in communicating about compliance

• Responsible for mandatory training plan for employees, also controlling that the required trainings have been taken

• Consult on compliance related questions

• Data protection officer’s duties, ensuring that GDPR requirements are followed;

• Cooperate on compliance matters with colleagues from Group compliance and other OP Baltic branches, participate in OP Group compliance projects;

• Participates in the development and refinement of new processes, contributing to the bank's operational excellence.

About you

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance, data protection, AML, legal or other relevant role, with a preference for candidates with experience in the banking sector

• Understanding of main banking products and services

• Knowledge of the regulations applied to financial services including anti-money laundering and funding of terrorism

• Knowledge of GDPR and other data protection legislation

• Excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit, with the ability to work effectively both within a team and independently

• Experience in a Nordic bank would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite

• Excellent skills in Latvian and English languages both written and spoken

• Higher education preferably in Law or Finance.
