Senior Accountant

  • Analyses financial reports and records and may make studies or recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
  • May review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
  • When inconsistencies or problems occur, which are outside delegated authority, they are brought to the attention of management. Recommendations are made to management regarding the proper means by which to resolve these issues.
  • May make recommendations for changes in policies and procedures to correct accounting related problems and processes.
  • Applies a broad knowledge of advanced accounting methods and procedures.
  • May coordinate and review lower-level accounting work assignments for accuracy and completeness.
  • May participate in accounting system development, determining specifications, testing and implementation.
  • May lead a project as a team leader.
  • Understands the established continuous improvement objectives for the department. Measures progress toward the continuous improvement standards and ensure that the necessary measurements are maintained. Participates in the resolution of any identified problems. Analyses data and makes all business decisions based on such analysis.
  • Carries out the accounting registration of the financial-accounting operations of the company in accordance with the legislation in force and with the internal procedures of the company
  • Prepares various reports and reconciliation of accounts and documentation specific to the audit process
  • Preparing regulatory financial reports to financial supervisory authorities, including National Bank of Romania, and tax authorities
  • Provides support in preparing monthly reports to the group for the company's activity
  • Responsible for the correctness, integrity and compliance with accounting standards of accounting records
  • Consults and applies local accounting rules (RAS) and international standards (IFRS, US GAAP)
  • Ensures the availability of supporting documents for accounting records
  • Collaboration with treasury team
  • Will be involved in both statutory and group compliance activities, internal/SOX controls, AML, internal/external audit activities

  • Min. 5 years in a similar role, ideally in the F&B sector;
  • Experience within a non-banking financial institution (IFN) is an important advantage;
  • University studies in finance & accounting and/or successful completion of an accounting certification (ACCA/CECCAR);
  • Banking accounting /reporting legislation knowledge is a plus;
  • Upper intermediate English language skills;
  • Accuracy, team spirit, speed, pro-active, great attention to details;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to use the software packages utilized by Accounting - Charisma ERP experience would be a substantial advantage;
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain advanced Excel spreadsheets and Word documents;
