Head of Brand

Denholm are thrilled to be working on an exclusive with AG Barr as they look to recruit a Head of Brand for the iconic IRN-BRU. As Scotland’s “other national drink”, there are few brands in the marketplace that command such a loyal consumer following yet remain fresh and challenge the status quo. We are looking for a passionate, forward-thinking and dynamic marketing leader who will continue the growth trajectory of this national treasure.

As a brand-led business, the Head of Brand position operates across the full marketing spectrum – from creating and building brand equity and strategic development to full deployment of creative campaigns. The Head of Brand is responsible for leading a team of brand managers in developing and implementing annual brand plans as well as serving as a key leadership position across the wider functions of the business.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

o Take full ownership of the brand equities for which the role is responsible and ensure they are protected and developed over the long term
o Develop strategies which develop the brands in line with overall business objectives and which drive profitable growth
o In conjunction with the Innovation Lead, develop innovation strategies by brand.
o Manage the brand team in executing cross functional brand development projects.
o Lead the annual brand planning process for the brand group, reviewing brand performance in the context of the consumer, the market and competitors and then building a plan which delivers on business objectives – annual gross profit, value market share and appropriate consumer measures
o To develop and deliver the financial objectives of pack/product developments within the brand group.
o Be accountable for effective and efficient control of the marketing budget for the brand group.
o Lead and coach the brand team in delivering business and brand objectives.
o Lead the extended brand team of agency partners in developing and delivering brand strategy and effective communications.
