Senior Application Software Engineer

Job description:

We are seeking an Application Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of embedded application software for data capture systems. This role requires strong programming skills, understanding of embedded systems, and experience with hardware interfacing. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with a passion for automation and a commitment to quality.

The Senior Application Software Engineer will be located in Oslo, Norway, and reports to Team lead Application Software.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and develop applications for T&L products.

• Develop tools and interfaces for product integration.

• Develop testing modules for automated testing routines.

• Responsible for specification, development, test and documentation of software.

• Interact with stakeholders to develop a strong understanding of the project/product requirements.

• Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.

• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple teams and mentor other developers.

• Support to sales, production and Mettler-Toledo technicians in the field.

Must have skills and qualifications:

• C / Modern C++ for windows and Linux

• QT, Git

• Bachelor/ Master or equivalent in one of the areas Computer Science, Software Engineering.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant programming experience.

Bonus Points: Experience working with the following:

• Web development for industrial devices/ applications (Wt/Boost).

• Experience on some or all: Python, Perl, Shell scripting.

Personal skills

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal and written/verbal skills, along with fluency in English. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills with the proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. In addition, strong analytical abilities, particularly in root cause analysis, are crucial.
