Senior Back End Engineer

The client was born as a company that would harness the latest in data collection technology and machine learning to make observability tech work for you – rather than the other way around.

Their AIOps (Artificial Intelligence for IT Operations) platform is designed to alleviate the challenges associated with monitoring and troubleshooting in IT environments. The platform utilizes eBPF (Extended Berkeley Packet Filter) to provide instantaneous, instrumentation-free visibility into production environments.

By leveraging machine learning (ML), the platform significantly accelerates the time to detect issues by offering insights into the root cause and business impact of service-related problems. This allows users to move beyond traditional monitoring approaches and address operational challenges with actionable insights, enhancing efficiency in IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop back-end services.
  • Write eBPF code in Kernel and User Space code.
  • Deal with networking - Hook the Kernel stack, implement DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) for various protocols.
  • Implement support of different protocols and rich tech stacks.
  • Focus on efficiency (resource utilization, running time), run performance tests.

Requirements

Must Have:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in C / C++.
  • 2+ years of experience in Go / Python.
  • 2+ years of experience with at least one of the following:
    o eBPF.
    o Linux internals.
    o Linux kernel development.
    o Networking stacks (Linux TCP/IP stack).
  • 2+ years of experience with developing a micro-service-based system (Docker / Kubernetes / Service-meshes).
  • 2+ years of experience working with databases (e.g. MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, MySQL).
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j, Amazon DynamoDB).

Nice to Have:

  • Degree in Computer Science (BSc in Computer Science) or relevant field.
  • Experience of working with monitoring/observability solutions (APM, open sources).
  • Managerial experience.
