1. Hi Abhishek, welcome to Talentor! We are delighted to meet you. Please tell us more about yourself!

I’m Abhishek Singh, Founder & CEO of Peergrowth, based in Dubai. I’ve been in the executive search and talent advisory space for over 15 years, with the last decade focused on building leadership teams across the Middle East, India, and emerging markets. I work closely with founders, boards, and C-suite leaders, particularly in healthcare, life sciences, financial services, industrials, and family-owned groups.

Outside of work, I’m very family-oriented and enjoy spending time with my wife and young son. I also enjoy travel, discovering new food cultures, and staying active. I’m quite interested in personal growth, leadership psychology, and long-term wealth and legacy planning topics that often overlap with the conversations I have professionally as well.

2. What is your favorite thing about the recruitment and executive search industry?

The ability to change the trajectory of both a business and a person’s life through the right leadership decision.

At senior levels, hiring is not transactional it’s deeply strategic, and when done well, the impact is visible for years.

3. Could you share with us a little bit about your beginnings in this industry?

I began my career with one of the leading executive search firms in India, working closely on senior mandates across Asia. This gave me early exposure to structured search, market mapping, and stakeholder management at a leadership level. I later moved into corporate recruitment, which helped me understand hiring from the client’s side business pressures, internal dynamics, and decision-making. The combination of both experiences shaped my approach to search and eventually led me to build Peergrowth with a strong focus on consultative, relationship-led executive hiring.

4.  What are the biggest learnings from your career?

5. What led you to found your company?

I felt there was a gap between large, global search firms (often expensive and rigid) and smaller contingent players (often transactional). Peergrowth was built to be high-touch, research-driven, and deeply consultative, without the bureaucracy especially for clients in growth or transformation phases.

6. What is Peergrowth´s USP for clients and candidates?

We invest time upfront to ensure alignment, and we don’t oversell roles or profiles.

7. What is a typical profile that you recruit?

We primarily recruit leadership and senior management roles—C-suite, C-1, and C-2—across functions such as Finance, Strategy, Commercial, Operations, IT/Digital, HR, and Transformation, particularly in healthcare and regulated industries.

8. Who is a typical client for you?

Our clients are usually:

  • Healthcare groups, hospitals, labs, and healthtech platforms
  • PE/VC and their portfolio companies
  • Family offices and diversified conglomerates
  • Financial services that would include Banks, Fintech, Private Banks, Asset management among others
  • Companies considered under Industrial sector like Manufacturing, Contracting, Energy etc.
  • International companies entering or scaling in the Middle East

9. What surprises foreign companies the most when they are recruiting specialists in the UAE?

The speed of the market, the diversity of nationalities, and the fact that compensation alone does not guarantee acceptance, visa structure, leadership style, and long-term stability matter just as much.

10. What's the biggest cultural misunderstanding that you've seen when working in the Middle East and global markets?

Assuming that one leadership style works across all cultures.

The Middle East values relationship, respect, and context, and companies that underestimate this often struggle with retention.

One of my biggest learning when working internationally is that listening is more important than talking. Cultural intelligence isn’t about knowing facts; it’s about understanding what is not being said and adapting without losing authenticity.

11. What is something that a foreign company would never guess about the labor market in Dubai/ UAE?

That it’s not just a regional market. It’s a global talent hub, where hiring decisions often involve cross-border tax, family, schooling, and long-term residency considerations.
