To learn more about our new partners, we sat down with Ansie De Jaeger, co-founder and partner of FEVER, who gave us the following interview, characterized by her closeness and desire for global collaboration.

Bonjour Ansie, bienvenue à Talentor! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

The word “people” is key in my life. From a private as well as a professional point of view, meeting people gives me a lot of energy. Whether it is an educational discussion with my husband or kids, a philosophical discussion with a friend, or a professional challenge discussion with a candidate, every conversation contributes to new insights and gives me a lot of energy.

Holding a MA in Applied Economics and an MBA, my educational background was mainly finance-oriented. Over the years, people have become increasingly important in my professional activities. Having spent 30 years in management positions leading people with different nationalities, I am still intrigued by the effect of team compositions and talent management on the effectiveness and productivity of an organisation.

What about your personal life? Is there anything you're passionate about that you can tell us about?

Besides people, I have a great passion for Portugal. Not only because of its climate, but the great mixture of mountains, beaches, and cities with a great cultural history. It’s the ideal country for city trips as well as trekking in nature. And last but not least: they make delicious wines!

You have shared with us that you are very people-centered. What is your favorite thing about the recruitment and executive search industry?

The positive effect of ageing. I think when working in executive search, the older you get and the more industries you’ve worked in, the better you become as a recruiting partner for your clients. I love the fact that I can use decades of experience in organization design, team composition in various countries, and team management to challenge the client’s objective when we get a new mission.

Sometimes it happens that – after the intake discussion with a client- the organizational needs or the search profile should be redefined. And that is where a good recruitment partner can make the difference!

Any learning experiences you can share with us from working in this industry?

It takes discipline and hard, persistent work to reach your career goals. But the key to success lies also in surrounding yourself with the right people. 1+1 should be bigger than 2!

Even whilst working in the corporate world, I always had an entrepreneurial spirit. A decade ago, I met Steven Van Mol. He is an entrepreneur for more than 30 years and the owner of Skill Builders, a Belgian-based talent & organisation development, skill training, and outplacement company. We worked together on a project and kept in touch afterwards. And here is the 1+1 >2: because together we had the dream to create a different kind of search agency. One where Ethics are important. One where people want to Excel. One where customers get Real solutions. And since we have a shared passion for Vitalizing careers, and Fun is our key ingredient to be happy at work, FEVER Executive Search was born!

What is a typical profile that you recruit for your clients?

We focus on leadership positions across different industries. Typical positions we recruit are CEO, general manager, VP operations, CFO, CRO, COO, CHRO, plant director, supply chain manager.

Besides the leadership positions, we focus on finance and HR profiles. Typical positions here include Financial Controller, Private Banker, Corporate Finance analyst, Compensation & Benefits specialist, Talent Acquisition & Development Manager.

Our clients are large corporations as well as small and medium-sized companies active in different industries: manufacturing industry, financial services, health care & life sciences, consumer goods & retail, real estate & construction, metal industry, engineering services.

For those companies that want to recruit and retain great talents, I always recommend making sure that your employer branding reflects the real culture of the company. Preach what you do and do what you preach. Otherwise, the match won’t last!

What surprises foreign companies the most when searching for executives in Belgium?

Belgians are recognised as being very productive. Besides, most of us speak 3 (Dutch, French, English) to 4 (German) languages. Striving for excellence is in their DNA. Even though we are a small country, we have excellent engineers creating a lot of innovation in telco, aerospace, etc. 
On the other hand, Belgian executives are very attached to living in Belgium. They are flexible in terms of travelling, but only a few are willing to relocate abroad permanently.

What do you think is great about being part of an international network / the Talentor network?

We were founded in december 2023 and focused on the Belgian market so far. But our clients also face cross-border needs and ask for our help in these missions.  So, we are very happy, as of now, to cooperate with like-minded partners abroad to help our customers with these foreign recruitment needs. And vice versa, we will be happy to help Talentor partners with cross-border missions involving Belgium. Our discussions with Talentor partners so far have convinced us of the quality of this organization.

Last but not least, we strongly believe in the added value of exchanging knowledge and working together cross border. Because here again, 1+1>2!
