With MSI Technologies joining the Talentor network, we’re better equipped than ever to serve our clients in the Americas with the same quality, agility, and local know-how they expect. We invite you to discover more about our new partners and their leader in this interview we did with Jhamil Abdala:
Hello Jhamil! Welcome to Talentor! Can you tell us a little more about yourself so we can introduce you to our community?
I hold doctoral-level education in engineering, technology, and business from the U.S., and I’ve spent my career building businesses around the world. My professional journey has been defined by innovation, global collaboration, and a passion for connecting people with opportunity.
Do you have other hobbies or things you enjoy doing with your family or friends?
I love to learn, play sports, and travel the world exploring different cultures. I’ve walked the Camino de Santiago five times, crossed the Andes Mountains, and spent time with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I’ve also formally studied all major world religions, an experience that has deepened my understanding of human values and connection.
What is your favorite thing about the recruitment and executive search industry?
My global background gives me a unique ability to understand people across cultures.
I enjoy helping professionals grow and thrive, and I find deep satisfaction in matching the right talent with the right organization. There’s a real challenge—and reward—in identifying exceptional individuals who will make a difference.
Could you share with us your beginnings in this industry?
I began in the technology sector over 37 years ago, always at the forefront of emerging trends. Building high-performance teams has been a constant in my career. Whether developing a startup or leading global projects, recruiting the right people has always been key. I’ve led the hiring and shaping of both executive and operational teams across continents.
Throughout my career, I have learned that with focus and discipline, anything is possible. Dreaming big gives us purpose, but it’s people who make those dreams real. Supporting individual growth and creating strong teams has always been central to my success. In the end, people are the most valuable asset any organization has.
What led you to found MSI Technologies?
In today’s global economy, excellence depends on quality, international standards, and proactive service. My training and experience across diverse markets have shown me what’s required to succeed at the highest level. I’ve built companies and teams worldwide that perform with precision, agility, and vision.
At MSI we bring together deep market knowledge, technical expertise, and a people-first mindset. Our reach is global, but our relationships are personal. We prioritize long-term value for both our clients and the talent we place.

What is a typical profile that you recruit and who is a typical client for you?
We focus on senior-level professionals, including cloud architects, project managers, cybersecurity analysts, DevOps engineers, and telecom specialists. Our searches are tailored to high-impact roles where expertise and leadership are critical.
Our typical clients are companies looking to outsource, recruit, or build high-performing teams, often in IT or other non-core business functions. They seek partners who provide proactive service, operational flexibility, and consistent access to skilled professionals. These organizations value quality, speed, and strategic alignment, whether they are scaling, transforming operations, or entering new markets.
What is one thing you would recommend to companies that want to recruit and retain great talent?
Create a culture which engages individual grow and development needs with organizational objectives. Happy employees and happy investors are more engaged, more productive, and less likely to leave. A constructive and positive culture creates loyalty and long-term success.
What surprises foreign companies the most when recruiting in the USA?
Many are surprised by how structured, results-oriented, and specialized the U.S. workforce is.
Job roles are clearly defined, performance is closely tracked, and productivity is a constant priority.
The hiring process moves quickly, and candidates expect transparency and timely communication. Purpose, company culture, and growth opportunities are just as important as compensation. To attract top talent, foreign companies must clearly communicate their mission and value proposition.

You have experience with several markets. Could you share a learning from working with different cultures?
Yes. One of the most important lessons is that success in international recruitment requires cultural awareness. In China, for instance, efficiency, structure, and precision are expected, even when working with limited budgets. Clear communication and alignment from the beginning are critical. In Europe, collaboration and transparency are key. Understanding how people work, communicate, and make decisions in different regions helps us build trust and deliver better results.
What is something that a foreign company would never guess about the U.S. labor market?
The level of innovation and diversity in the U.S. market often surprises newcomers. It is a highly competitive environment, where professionals are driven by individual achievement and accountability. At the same time, employees value work-life balance, continuous development, and purpose. The ability to manage diverse teams and align personal goals with business objectives is essential for long-term success.
Why did you decide to join the Talentor network?
We joined Talentor because we believe in the power of global collaboration. Our team brings decades of experience in building businesses and leading talent strategies across markets. We saw an opportunity to contribute this knowledge while gaining access to new regions and trusted partners. Talentor also enables deeper conversations with clients. Beyond executive search, we help organizations explore how to optimize operations and reduce costs by relocating non-core functions or building international teams. We believe in asking the bigger questions that drive real value.
