Global Effort: Norway, UK, and South Africa in the Hunt for HSEQ Performance Director
About the client:
An industrial company located on the northwest coast of Norway that offers a comprehensive range of engineering solutions.
What does the client needed from Talentor?
When our client needed to appoint a highly qualified Global HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) Performance Director, they sought our expertise at Capus Norway to conduct a comprehensive search across Singapore, Cape Town, Aberdeen, and Molde. Leveraging our extensive network and deep local market knowledge, we coordinated with our partners in these key regions to identify and attract top-tier talent: Collingwood Executive Search and People Power Placements.
Through the Talentor network, we streamlined the recruitment process, ensuring consistency and efficiency while meeting the client’s specific needs. Our collaboration facilitated a successful search, reinforcing our commitment to providing exceptional executive search services and supporting our client in building a world-class team dedicated to upholding the highest HSEQ standards.
Exciting learnings when cooperating within the network
As a small country in Northern Norway with a unique culture, it was crucial for our client to communicate the importance of their company culture and values effectively. To ensure a thorough understanding, we arranged for the customer to meet all Talentor Partners’ teams, allowing for direct interaction and questions with those in charge. This approach helped convey that we were not seeking a Norwegian replica living elsewhere but rather someone who could align with the client's values and culture.
To facilitate smooth communication, we established a common group session and held separate startup meetings with each team to set expectations and agree on timelines. This structured approach, combined with the fun and engaging experience, was pivotal in the success of the recruitment process. It ensured a seamless transition until we took over, resulting in a successful search phase.
We really enjoyed partnering Arne Henning Underdal-Loktu from Capus and the client to recruit an HSEQ Performance Director. We love partnering with clients that place a lot of value on their employees and this client certainly does. It was a pleasure building a strong talent pool for the role in the UK and the feedback from the candidates we shortlisted was exceptional with both Capus and the client. The project certainly showed us the power of and the value the Talentor International network can provide to our clients!
Success factors when joining forces within Talentor
- Ensuring our customer has the opportunity for direct communication with the team from the outset is essential.
- Hold an internal startup meeting with the Talentor Partner teams to provide insights, set clear expectations, outline the desired output, and define the process.
- Set up a structure for an easy communication line between the main partner, and the supporting teams.
Working with various offices across the globe with Talentor partners, this search was stimulating and challenging. The brief from the client was concise and very specific, which made it easier to present shortlisted candidates meeting the most important requirements. Thank you to Arne Henning Underdal-Loktu from Capus for keeping P3 informed and liaising on our behalf with the client. This project is a very good example of how various offices can collaborate globally.
The reason why the client chooses Talentor over another recruitment provider
Our customer has expressed appreciation for our willingness to challenge their views and offer candid opinions on candidate specifications and needs. They value the significant time we’ve invested in getting to know them well. Additionally, they find it relevant that we share similar values and a company culture that includes outdoor activities, which they regularly incorporate into team events.
We are sure there will be many more collaborations between these three countries and our more than 37 locations globally. We are excited to add such a project to our list of cross-border collaborations within Talentor and are ready for the next one!
