Networking is essential for a business to be successful. To make networking feel good, there are a few things to consider. That is why I wanted to share my 5 main reasons why networks, like Talentor, are so great!

I am not an introvert, which some of my colleagues can certainly confirm, but sometimes it is hard even for me to approach “strangers”.

Since I have been working in and for the Talentor network myself, I have learned to be open to others. Out of genuine, sincere interest and sometimes just out of curiosity.

Often, I find that behind inconspicuous people there are incredible stories and talents that no one has yet discovered. A lot of the unforeseen and the new arises from encounters with the wonderful people who cross my path.

I firmly believe that every new contact, every new connection can enrich our lives. Networks are part of our lives. Almost everyone is born into a small network - the family. What we make out of these contacts that cross our lives is up to us. If you do not use them, you will lose one of life's most valuable treasures.

Networks in business

Networking is essential in business to be successful. To make networking feel good, there are a few things to consider:

  • Networking should always be barter. A give and take. The barter does not necessarily have to take place with the same person but can also take place across people. True to the motto: If you help others, you will also be helped.
  • Networking is an active relationship work and takes time. Unfortunately, some people forget this fact and want to get straight to the point. But that is not how it works. Honest and expectation-free interest helps.

True to the principle “together you are less alone”, good networks and relationships survive long periods of time. You may lose your job, move to another city, or lose a loved one. Networks stay and can help even in difficult times.

We keep learning to appreciate that right now after many world crises. I continusly spoke to almost all Talentor partners in different countries and continents. Listening to each other, and exchanging ideas about how we can overcome economic and social challenges together in our local markets and worldwide.

I am convinced that working and investing in networks or alliances, as we do in Talentor, can be beneficial in the long run. For me, it is the only path to success!

My 5 Main Reasons Why Networks Are So Great

  1. They allow you to support others:
One of the main advantages of networking that people overlook is that you can help other people. Our motives in the professional world are rarely selfless, but helping someone else with their business or career can be truly rewarding.

Furthermore, helping a professional connection means that they will owe you one, which means that by helping other people connect, you are essentially paving the path for your own professional success.
  2. Share and exchange ideas – get feedback from your community:
Most of us try to stay up to date with changes in our business fields in different ways. One of the most effective ones is simply talking to other professionals in your industry.

Being on the receiving end of these ideas allows you to introduce new practices in your workplace and helps you remain on top of trends and developments.

A professional network is there to share opinions about your industry and exchange information. You can discuss industry-related matters that you have been thinking about, as well as ask for advice when you reach an impasse. Having this kind of support system is one of the many advantages of networking. It is why people are encouraged to take an active role in building their networks. Not only can you share thoughts about new trends with other professionals, but you can also share ideas about client projects while getting some constructive feedback.

Your professional network essentially functions as a resource, because, as the adage goes, two minds are better than one. If you have these connections, you can access their knowledge at any time – and vice versa.
  3. Open doors to new (business) opportunities:
Networking makes you more visible and thereby opens new doors. From getting approached by clients, business partners, even competitors or recruiters, to getting noticed by people who would like to work with you, you never know when an opportunity that can advance your business or your career will present itself.

It is important to understand that opportunities not only present themselves in the form of new projects or jobs. Meeting an important person in the industry can change the course of your activities.
  4. Increase your self-esteem:
It may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about the benefits of networking, but the boost to your self-esteem is something to consider. It can be quite a social thrill knowing people, being asked about your opinions and ideas and getting asked to introduce people to each other. At least it feels good.
  5. A positive influence:
Sometimes all our businesses or careers need is an influencer who can help things go our way, which is exactly what a professional network does a lot of the time. It puts in a good word and applies pressure whenever necessary; it helps you achieve your goals.

What makes the Talentor network stand out?

At Talentor, we pride ourselves on having an in-house team exclusively dedicated to driving growth, integrating new partners, and providing ongoing support to our active members. This sets us apart from other networks, as we have a stable management team committed to these responsibilities on a full-time basis. Unlike networks with constantly changing leadership, our team focuses entirely on the crucial tasks of growth and continuous development. We offer targeted support to our partners, addressing strategic, sales, and marketing challenges with precision and expertise.

  • Centralized Coordination: We have a centralized coordination team that oversees and facilitates communication among all network partners. This central hub ensures that information flows efficiently and that all partners are aligned with the organization's goals and standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Regular strategic planning sessions involving key stakeholders help us set clear goals, identify growth opportunities, and adapt to market changes. This collaborative approach ensures that our network remains agile and responsive to evolving industry dynamics.
  • Transparent Communication: Open and transparent communication channels are established to foster a sense of community among partners. Regular partner virtual meetings, two physical meetings a year, newsletters, and a network intranet help share important information, industry insights, and best practices across the network.
  • Technology and Artificial Intelligence: We work to leverage state-of-the-art technology to streamline communications, share resources, and provide updates to all network partners. This includes a centralized information-sharing platform, project management tools, and collaboration technologies. In addition, we have launched an “AI Masterclass” that aims to promote knowledge sharing and skills development among our members. This initiative equips participants with the essential tools to leverage the latest advances in artificial intelligence in the recruiting industry and ultimately increase their efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance Measures: We enforce strict quality assurance measures across the network. Our quality standards.
