How to be an Effective Recruiting Leader according to Talentor
We asked our #TalentorCommunity what they think about it and the answers are clear: leadership is more than just having an active voice and steering a group of people in a certain direction. It goes beyond influencing them. It takes much more than that to really become and effective and ideal leader.
According to a recent study carried out by Talentor International, we came to the conclusion that Leadership seemed to be anchored with three main values: #Integrity, #Empathy and #Vision.
Integrity plays a very important role when it comes to effective leadership. Leaders that value honesty and trust are the ones capable of building the most important foundation. They go hand in hand and a leader should have both, because only so will they be able to adopt an ethical behaviour, that will earn their team’s trust and respect. It’s one of the secret ingredients to have a strong and cohesive team.
71.4% of employees considered Integrity as one of the most important leadership values. On the other hand, 100% of the leaders see Integrity as one of the main values.
“An ideal leader should be honest and trustworthy. When leaders lead with integrity, it creates a culture of trust within the team.”
Now, more than ever, empathy has taken centre stage. Having a leader that is able to connect and relate with its team, contributes to a safe, nurturing and supportive work environment. People need that reassurance, they need to feel that their needs matter, that they are heard. Not only will they feel safe, but it will also boost their morale, which ultimately will lead to loyalty.
In fact, 85.7% of the employees consider empathy as one of the core leadership values, as opposed to 50% of the leaders.
Without vision, one will not be able to achieve its goals. Having a clear purpose and letting everyone on it, makes it easier to walk that path of success. A leader that knows how to vehiculate its message and goals, and that involves its team right from the start, will be much more effective and productive
67.9% of employees see vision as a pillar for an effective leader.
Navigating work relationships can be difficult and sometimes complex. Managing a group of people, all of them different, with specific needs and goals is not an easy task. For a leader to be effective, there are other qualities that should not go missed such as:
- Trustworthiness and approachability;
- Focus on Team Development;
- Empowerment and Fulfilment;
- Resilience and Positivity;
- Transparency and Authenticity.
Along with those feautures, effective leaders should trust their teams and let them know of it, they should lead by example and hold themselves accountable. An effective leader should be prepared to embrace the change and should always garantee that the core values are the same as for everyone else.
