The impact of artificial intelligence within our network
In this Masterclasses, we have structured and foment the constant exchange about AI topics in our industry and network. Some of our partners already are testing, experimenting, and using AI tools daily, and what better way than to learn about the experience with artificial intelligence in the Recruiting and Executive Search industry firsthand: our Talentor community. HR professionals, who without being technology experts, can transmit their perception about the tools that are currently being developed and implemented in companies all around the world, for better decision-making in our network, to benefit our clients and candidates.
So far we have had 3 master classes of which we believe it is interesting to share the following. Let's start with the basics of AI, a very important and relevant information shared by our partner from Talentor Czech Republic, Tomáš Prajzler.
What is AI?
As Tomáš mentioned, AI is an area of computer science that focuses on creating intelligent machines, that can react and learn the way people do.
AI has been everywhere around us - from Netflix movie recommendations, through Alexa- or Siri-like assistant to autonomous vehicles.
How does AI work?
The basic principles lie in how the machines learn using data and algorithms. It is essential to understand that the AI does not work like your “typical“ computer program - you do not tell it exactly what to do, but you “teach“ it using your data.
As an easy example, Tomáš mentions an example that we can all become familiar with, the email inbox spam filter. The filter uses AI and “learns“ based on specific data patterns from the user (the person). The more emails a person flags as spam, the better AI recognizes spam messages for them “as users” and filters it for them.
What can AI be used for in a recruiting company?
Tomáš defines two main areas in which AI can be useful for recruiting and executive search companies.
- Working with text: AI can be a useful tool in the operational processes of the company, in the selection processes and also of great support in communication and marketing issues. Like any internal type of documentation or headhunting script creation or fine-tuning. Or external market research, communication and marketing with stakeholders (blog articles, social media posts, etc), search queries, and candidate assessments (interview notes, candidate’s reports, etc).
Some examples of AI Tools for this are Chat GPT (for content creation), Deepl (for translation), Grammarly (for writing and proofreading), etc. - Working with graphics: AI can let you easily create websites, presentations, newsletters, blog post structures, social media multimedia and visual content, infographics, support in the employer branding, etc.
Some examples of AI Tools for this are Canva (for design), Durable (for website creation), etc.
How to implement AI in a recruiting company?
The implementation will depend on several factors in each company, but Tomáš points out these 5 key steps. 1) Learn the key tools: All the people involved should learn and experiment with different tools, 2) Analyze your company processes: depending on which you can wisely decide which tools are necessary and/ or optional 3) Set your budget according to the use you are going to be giving to these tools 4) Choose the tech stack focusing in what you want to achieve and 5) Change the necessary processes and train the users in your company to get the most out of these tools.
But, what does AI mean to a recruiting company?
Our partner Yoni Szpiro from Generations Recruitment (Talentor Belgium), says that the significance lies in two aspects:
AI allows recruiting consultants to create more meaningful connections with both clients and candidates and improve the value perceived & delivered by the company with the same efforts (money or time).
As an example, Yoni shares his experience of AI advancement within Generations Recruitment and highlights that with its use they have been able to:
Review the client and candidate cycle: By doing this review, his team evaluates the touchpoints of their clients/ candidates, and the tasks that AI can cover related to their business (frequency, high timing consumer, and efforts dedicated).
Review the company’s recruitment cycle: By doing this review they were able to see where AI can be implemented. There are many daily tasks such as sending internal/external mailings and managing agendas that can easily be solved with AI.
Now, to delve a little deeper into more technical aspects, we would like to share some of the AI tools we have presented in our masterclasses.
- Yoni from Generations Recruitment, introduced to our network his team's experience with Fireflies. The AI tool that helps teams to transcribe, summarize, search, and analyze voice conversations. But, most importantly, the use Yoni’s team gives this tool during candidate’s interviews, since the time of the pandemic, the percentage of interviews Generations Recruitment conducts online is 95% (only 5% face-to-face)!
A great alternative for time and human effort efficiency that if used rightly can help to maintain “online” relationships and closeness with others, treating their information more agile.
- Then Tomáš from Talentor Czech Republic, presented the Czech team’s experience with Pictory. An AI tool that specializes in video content creation to boost sales and generation of leads in a very easy, fast and affordable way. What Tomáš emphasizes most is that by being able to make these customized multimedia content they can stop spending time on mundane activities and focus on other highly important tasks.
- And finally, Pernille Stein Engvoll, Head of Talent Acquisition in Talentor Austria, introduced our recruiters and consultants especially the tool hireEZ a CRM built for recruiters by recruiters! This tool was designed to consolidate sourcing and recruitment tasks, and as Pernille tells, they use this AI tool to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring Talentor Austria stays ahead of market demands and maintains a competitive edge in the future, adding their team to save time for meaningful personal connections!
To conclude, we wanted to share Pernille's thoughts on why it matters to explore AI in recruitment: As we can probably guess, AI and Automation are becoming increasingly crucial for the recruiting industry and are perceived to grow substantially in the future. These tools are of great importance when increasing a team’s productivity, ensuring accuracy, and facilitating smoother teamwork and collaboration, something that we see within the Talentor network.
We look forward to continuing these AI Masterclasses and to sharing our best practices in this area with our global partners. If we continue to take advantage of the benefits these AI tools give us, of course without losing the human touch that makes us stand out in our industry, we will achieve our mission of staying competitive in the evolving market landscape and finding the leaders for tomorrow in an intelligent way!
