Leadership Journeys: Meet Pernille Stein-Engvoll from the Leaders4Tomorrow Program
Thanks to the amazing support of our global partners, at Talentor International, we consciously created a diverse group of leaders from Switzerland, the Netherlands, Latvia, Austria and Ukraine, to participate in this Leadership Program, to learn from each other’s experiences, to answer the questions that we have before leading teams and the experience of already leading an entire operation.
The Leaders4Tomorrow Program officially started in September 2023 at the Talentor Summit in Amsterdam, followed by a series of virtual sessions with global leaders and HR professionals from different industries, and an on-site Leadership Camp in Vienna during November 2023 in which we engaged with provoking keynotes, learning sessions and updates from everyone from the Leaders4Tomorrow Program team.
And so, we soon reach July 2024, in which the closing of the program and the presentation of the strategic projects that each of our leaders developed for their companies and markets took place!
One of the top talents within the Talentor Community who participated and recently culminated the first cohort of the Leaders4Tomorrow Program was Pernille Stein-Engvoll.
Pernille Stein-Engvoll is Talentor Austria’s Head of Talent Acquisition, she has spent several years in the field of recruitment and executive search at local and global level.
She is passionate about human resources, a high-quality research and built growing teams in the recruiting industry in Austria. Pernille has a wealth of experience in identifying and assessing top management and middle management personnel, as well as specialists in a variety of industries.
The strategic project that Pernille developed at Talentor’s Leaders4Tomorrow Program was to explore which AI tools will shape the quality and speed of the research process now and in the future. Pernille is now leading Talentor Austria’s AI project to continuously scan the market for potential future AI solutions.
Her personal and professional progress was inspiring for our Talentor team, so during this leadership journey, we had the pleasure of having her in our Talentor Summit in Amsterdam on September 2023, as one of our key-note speakers, talking about AI tools with the rest of the Talentor consultants and recruiters from all around the world. And now we wanted to introduce Pernille to our whole Talentor community, so we asked her a few questions. Here is what she shared with us!
Hi Pernille! Congratulations on completing the Leaders4Tomorrow Program and developing a stand-out project! We want our Talentor Community to know you a little bit better, can you share with us what inspires you most in your work?
What inspires me in my work is the interaction with a diverse range of clients and candidates, and the reward of helping both parties find the perfect match. Each recruitment project presents different challenges, ensuring that no two days are the same. Additionally, I am very happy to be part of a great team in Austria, where mutual support creates a collaborative environment that fosters personal growth and drives our collective success.
What is the biggest milestone you have achieved in your job?
The biggest milestone in my career has been the opportunity to take over the lead for our Talent Acquisition team. It has given me the opportunity to engage more in strategic topics, lead and develop a fantastic team of individuals, tackle new challenges, and grow both personally and professionally.
What do you value most when dealing with candidates?
I value open conversations with candidates, getting to know them and their experiences to better match them with suitable positions and companies. By understanding their unique strengths and aspirations, I can help them find opportunities where they can thrive and make meaningful contributions. There’s nothing more rewarding than creating positive experiences and finding roles that candidates are enthusiastic about and excel in.
Have you lived and worked abroad before?
Yes, I have. I’ve been living and working in Austria for almost 8 years now, and I absolutely love it!
Pernille was one of those outstanding talents, who learned about a new concept, framework or idea, and the next day, she experimented with her new learnings. She shaped her personal feedback skills, developed a project framework for looking into new AI tools and kept on spreading her compassion for what she does and what we teach her team: She loves finding outstanding people in their field, loves the research process and has a never stopping eagerness to excel. So real and committed leadership!
Thank you Pernille for sharing these interesting facts with us! We wish you all the best in your role as lead of the Talent Acquisition team, we know that you will excel! It was a pleasure to have worked with you in the program and to know more about you! We hope it was a meaningful experience that you can share with your team! 😉
