We talked with Talentor Lithuania’s Managing Partner, Ausra Grybauskiene, to learn more about the current situation of her company and how being part of an international network of recruitment and selection of executives, such as Talentor, has influenced its business development to continue finding the Leaders for Tomorrow locally and globally.

Hello Ausra, many of our Partners already had the pleasure of meeting you, others are eager to do so or to get to know you better. Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I have been professionally associated with Executive Search since 2005, when I joined Talentor Lithuania as a consultant and later, in 2009, became the company’s Managing Partner. Before Talentor I was working in the hospitality industry as an HR manager. I have a Master's Degree in Business Administration and studied Psychology.

I am also a wife and a mother of two children, with a deep passion for nature. I love outdoor activities like walking, hiking, skiing, kayaking in rivers, swimming in lakes, and observing wildlife.

Can you tell us a little bit about Talentor Lithuania?

Talentor Lithuania counts 31 years of activity! Our company was one of the first recruitment companies opened in 1993, just a few years after the recovery of the Independence of Lithuania, when the need for recruitment services appeared in the market.

We are a boutique retained executive search and development firm, providing tailor-made solutions for our clients. Our services include middle to top-level executive search, board member search, candidate assessment, management coaching, management surveys, and HR consulting.

Talentor Lithuania is led by two partners – myself and Vilija Slavickienė. Vilija joined Talentor in 2003 and has over 20 years of experience in executive search and psychological assessment, specializes in executive coaching, and is passionate about systemic consulting.

So Ausra, what would you like to emphasize about the search for talent recruiting in Lithuania?

Lithuania is a rather small market – 1,47 M employees in Lithuania and stands out as a highly competitive recruitment market. English is widely spoken in Lithuania, especially among younger generations and professionals. This high level of English proficiency makes it easier for recruitment companies abroad to recruit local talent as most Lithuanian LinkedIn profiles are written in English. However, the devil is in the details.

It is crucial to have an in-depth understanding of the local market, as well as the culture and history of companies, to select the best candidates to lead the company or department.

Lithuania is becoming an attractive destination for remote workers and foreign start-up entrepreneurs. The country offers a high standard of internet connectivity, green cities surrounded by natural lakes and parks, clean drinkable water from the tap and a favorable work-life balance!

Technological advancements, global influences, and a focus on creating a sustainable and supportive work environment reflect the evolving nature of the job market in Lithuania. Many companies are currently offering hybrid work options, focus on continuous learning and placing a greater emphasis on the health and well-being of their employees.

How long have you been part of Talentor? And why did your company decided to join?

We joined Talentor in 2007! Long time before I became a Managing Partner, but I can say that it was a fantastic strategic decision! Since then we have built a solid international network of passionate people in Executive Search and Recruiting industry around the globe. This broadened our view about this industry, gave solid assurance that we work according to best-in-class standards of this industry, and gave a lot of connections who can support you, give advice, and connect to new businesses you were never in contact with.

Being part of Talentor is all about people: new colleagues around the world, who are ready to share their knowledge, connections, and passion to find leaders for tomorrow!

Do you have a particular collaboration within Talentor that you would like to highlight?

We are particularly pleased with our close collaboration with Talentor partners in the Baltics! Together with Talentor Latvia and Talentor Estonia, we have conducted Baltic searches, mutual assessment projects, and numerous cross-border initiatives, and maintaining regular regional meetings to strengthen Talentor in our region.

Test

What do you think has surprised Talentor partners the most about your local market?

Once after showcasing our country to Talentor partners, we were met with expressions of awe and admiration. One partner, clearly impressed, remarked, "I can't believe how you can survive and even thrive in such a competitive market! You must be really good!", something that made us very proud.

What do you think is great about being part of an international network such as Talentor?

The Talentor network is not just about the people you meet from your industry, but also about the experiences you share and the knowledge and insights you gain through active participation in the Talentor’s Practice Groups. I am an active member of the Marketing and Generalist Practice Groups, while Vilija participates in the Industry Practice Group, as one our key areas of expertise – executive search for production and manufacturing companies. It is great to have that closeness and possibility of exchange with the rest of our Talentor community.

At Talentor, we are pleased to know our partners' perspectives on what being part of our network means to them and how cross-border collaborations have helped their companies grow, and to face challenges in their local markets.

We are happy to have partners like Talentor Lithuania because of their active participation and commitment to growing our community in their country and region by finding the leaders for tomorrow. Thank you Ausra for sharing this interview with us!
